Artist Bio:
Manuel Murillo is an impassioned scribe and co-owner of A Words Worth, a calligraphy and framing studio in Asheville, NC. Though introduced to Calligraphy in 1988, Manuel has spent the years since 2000, studying with some of the best scribes in the world, intensifying his work, through exploration of letterform, color and texture. His wife, Patrice, is responsible for all adornments and supplements in their paper quilting and collage collaborations. She also helps with the framing aspect of the business and is his greatest source of inspiration.
Mission/Artist Statement:
My desire is to create and enhance artwork and memorabilia with a personal touch, reflective of individual taste and sentiment through original, quality design in hand-lettering.
